How Was Your PhD Experience?

You might be one year into your PhD journey, you might be waiting for the Viva, or you could have completed your doctorate a decade ago, or maybe you didn’t finish. No matter who you are and what stage you are at we’d like to hear about your PhD journey, no matter how recent or distant or positive or negative. Are you still at university, or did you submit your thesis years ago? Feel free to send an email here or add your comments using the ‘leave a comment’ link below. We’re looking for a concise sense of whether your experience was good, bad or indifferent, with any relevant high or low points.

If your anecdotes are particularly negative, avoid revealing the names of any people (including yourself) or institutions for obvious reasons. If you can illustrate what made your experience noteworthy, that would be particularly helpful.
